James McVay began performing as a solo artist at the age of 13, and has travelled the US from the streets of New York City to the showcases of Los Angeles, and all points in between. An accomplished guitarist from the Stephen Stills/Leo Kotke school of powerhouse acoustic chops, James blended his love of the great singer/songwriters with 40 years of personal and musical experience to create the debut album “Heroes On The Homefront”.

Enlisting the help of old friends and collaborators, Heros plays host to the talents of Doane Perry (Jethro Tull), Kate Markowitz and Arnold McCuller (James Taylor), Valerie Landsburg (Fame),and David Schwartz (Northern Exposure, Deadwood).

Although he has spent 20 years composing for film and television, McVay’s passion is songwriting, and he frequently composes songs for the work he scores. His dual careers makes for an extremely seasoned and well-rounded artist and composer.
