From his childhood classical piano training to years of performing and recording on the LA music scene, Robert Blau has amassed a broad range of musical styles and knowledge. As an artist and producer, he leans towards the funkier, grittier side of rock, blues, and country, but as a composer tends to be more cinematic.
He favors drums, percussion, loud guitars, and industrial noise, as well as juxtaposing various styles over one another. “I always loved how the Beatles and the Stones, for example, would do an album with songs from many different genres, with many different instruments, and yet it all sounded like them, their own take on that style.”
Music and visual images have always been Robert’s main passions, and creating music for film represents the next step in his evolution as a recording artist and producer.
